Super Easy Valentine’s Day Crafts

When I was pregnant with my daughter, I told my husband I’d finally have to start decorating for holidays…after watching some friends’ kids get excited with each new holiday and the decor that exploded all over the house. Back in the day (WAY back in the day), I worked at an upscale craft and decor store, and that’s how it felt – holidays exploding. It all kind of overwhelmed me. I guess that’s why I steered away from decorating for so long? I’m certain it influenced my more minimal design aesthetic.

With a toddler, and working like I do, I decided we’d take baby steps each time around and do something fun and simple along the way. This is what we came up with this year.

These little guys kept us busy during the torrential downpour we had here in Southern California last week. Simple to do, fun for everyone, and they came in a kit that cost less than $5. These were actually much more involved than the other craft we did that my toddler loved, but it’s alright – we were cooped up for days.

These hearts are what we actually intended to make when we went for supplies, but the other guys were too good to pass up. ;-)

The hanging hearts were really easy, and they only took three parts…just right for an easy Valentine’s Day craft for my kiddo.

We glued some silver string between two glitter hearts. That’s it. Those are the instructions. Easy enough to do with a lil’ one, and simple enough that I don’t feel overwhelmed by Valentine decor. The perfect mix.

How about you? What’s your take on V-Day decorations? A lot? A little? What’s just right for you?

Super cute Anna! I agree...I find that decorating for holidays is way more fun now than before I had kids.
