Many of us know how to how to pay attention to our expenses…there’s no real getting around it in the long run. (Although many people don’t – we’ll talk more about this in another post.)

But let’s talk about cash flow in…how much are you paying attention to your money coming IN? It makes sense to put a bit of  concentration here – I’ll tell you why:

What you focus on expands.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Where attention goes, energy flows?” If you’re only focusing on what’s going out – your expenses – what’s expanding? Likely not your inflow.

Try something new in the first week of the new year…and by all means, start now if you’re game!

For the next month, write down specifically what’s coming in. All of it. Not just your paycheck, or inflows from your business, but all of it. Money you receive as a gift, pennies you find on the street, anything that is money coming to you (counting those ways you might not otherwise notice is important). Just write it down and track it on a weekly basis. Do it even if you’re not seeing as much in as you think you’d like to see. Pay attention to it. Put your energy there. Watch how it grows.
